Rhapsody of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International
|
Come set sail not just to another place, but another time: the future of cruising. Welcome aboard Rhapsody of the Seas, one of Royal Caribbean's newest ships and the culmination of our years spent pleasing passengers and cruising the globe. With her dramatic walls of glass and her retractable canopy, she has already embarked on the course other cruise ships will someday follow. But why wait for them? With inches to spare, Rhapsody of the Seas, the newest and largest ship in Royal Caribbean International's 11-vessel fleet, made cruise history when it traveled through the Panama Canal. At 915 feet in length by 105.6 feet in beam width, the 78,491-ton vessel is the largest cruise ship ever to transit the Panama Canal. The maximum size for any ship entering the canal is 965 feet in length and 106 feet in width. Midway through its maiden voyage; Rhapsody of the Seas began its regular season June 14, with seven-night sailings out of Vancouver, visiting Juneau, Skagway, Sitka, Ketchikan and Misty Fjords in the Inside Passage. Joining sister-ship Legend of the Seas, which has sailed Alaskan waters since 1995, Rhapsody will be the largest cruise ship operating in Alaska.
